Lost

Though the black swan’s arched neck is like
A question-mark on the lake,
The swan outlaws all possible questioning:
A thing in itself, like love, like submarine
Disaster, or the first sound when we wake;
And the swan-song it sings
Is the huge silence of the swan.

From The Black Swan by James Merrill

Image taken in Adelaide, Australia. Blacks swans are native to Australia.

    Wow! It looks like a painting. I really like it. x

      Thanks a lot Bev! I was told that the image looks like a photomontage, but apart from the texturing I gave to it, it is actually a single image. The little origami boat is a sculpture in a pond outside the convention centre in Adelaide.

    A wonderfully creative image, I love the way you have “finished” it. Perfect.

    I also thought this was a montage. Truly a magical picture straight out from a fable…Nice job!

    Really lovely. All the more impressive for not being created in PS.

    Amazing image – I also thought that it was a montage – how fabulous that you found it in real life!
