The lake
I just so love my iPhone! I took this image of Lake Ohau on my phone while I was in New Zealand’s South Island recently covering a wedding held at this beautiful spot – not, of course, using my iPhone for that!
Within
Keeping with the iPhone theme of my last blog post, today I took these Hipstamatic double exposures of my awesome lighting assistant Simon, while I was waiting for a corporate portrait client to arrive. Within a short time of uploading them to Facebook, I found that one of them had been featured on the HipstaChallenge Facebook site. Thanks to Samuel at HipstaChallenge for the title: ‘Within’.
Down at the seashore
It’s been a while since I’ve posted an iPhone image. I took this shot earlier this week using the cool Polamatic app, on the warmest evening of summer so far, down at my local beach. The beach is only five minutes walk away from where we live, and featured in this earlier blog post.
Spanish Nights
A companion piece to last year’s post: Spain through the Hipstamatic eye … Images taken in Burgos, León and Lugo – all in the north of Spain.
Hooked on Instagram!
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted on WordPress. But finally the wedding season is coming to an end, and I’ll have more time to think about what images to post.
In the meantime though, I have become hooked on Instagram, because it is so quick to take, process and upload images straight from my iPhone. This is a small selection of images I’ve uploaded recently, with the whole portfolio found here.
Scenes from a Beach
Thanks so much to everyone who liked or made such nice comments on my last few posts – I owe you all return visits, but I’m still spending most of my time at the moment processing wedding photos.
These images are a little different: from my Canon 5D to the cool Hipsta app on my iPhone; and from Europe, North Africa and the Middle East to just down the street from my home. I’m fortunate to live less than five minutes walk away from a beach – Petone Beach. It’s not the most beautiful beach in the world, but it’s a great place to unwind and watch the changing light …
Haunted Hospital
I recently had the opportunity to visit Fever Hospital (built 1919) here in Wellington, NZ. In this hospital patients who suffered from infectious diseases – like TB – were treated in complete isolation. These days the hospital is abandoned, rundown and some people believe it is haunted! Happy Halloween!

Spain through the Hipstamatic eye
All these images from Spain – mainly Toledo, Salamanca and Segovia – were taken using the Kaimal Mark II lens and a combination of Blanko film, Ina’s 1969 and Kodot XGrizzled (on the Hipstamatic iPhone app)
